What Does the Job Entail?
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and qualifications:
Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation
Positive attitude and commitment to our company values
Experience as an estimator in the construction field
Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills
Top-notch management and negotiation skills
Capable of closely collaborating with other project teams and stakeholders
Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills
Knowledge of best industry practices and standards
Advanced computer skills, such as the ability to use quantity takeoff software & Excel
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Determine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for construction projects
Research construction documents and analyze specifications
Prepare estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work
Manage pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions
Prepare estimates to meet project goals, such as setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, and securing the best deals with vendors and subcontractors
Ensure that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline
Regularly report to the SVP of Estimating and update clients on the project status
Formulate contingency plans and effectively manage risks that might impact cost and time estimates
Keep track of the latest estimating technology and industry-related techniques.
Collaborate with other teams, conduct site visits, and provide other services, such as bid deliveries
